ABOUT CASSIE
A 'Quick' Overview
I am a senior at North Carolina State University studying Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Chinese Language. My career interests and goals include: aircraft design, military defense, high performance automobiles, and designing golf clubs and balls. After college, I look forward to working for an innovative and collaborative team in the research, design, and development of next generation products in the aerospace field.

HISTORY
The first two years of college I was involved in Aerial Robotics Club (ARC), where I used my skills to design and build the structure of unmanned, autonomous aircraft to compete in international competitions.
The summer after my freshman year, I was an intern at The First Tee. In that internship I was responsible of coordinating 15 summer golf camps and teaching young children core life values and golf. From that internship, I learned how to take charge of any task presented to me, be the leader of the group, and how to recover from unexpected obstacles.
For the past two years, I have been a math tutor to several people. I reach out to high school and college students who need aid in learning or improving their abilities and performance in math. In fact, I teach and aid in all levels of math, including Math I/II/III, Pre-calculus, Calculus I/II, SAT/ACT prep, Differential Equations, and Vibration Control.
As of January 2020, I am a research assistant to Dr. Jie Yin at NC State. I work on developing new articulations for pneumatically controlled soft robots, collaborating with three PhD students in the lab. In this position, I utilize my skills in ANSYS and SolidWorks to analyze the air pressure and stress on the walls of the channels in the robots. Due to COVID-19, the university has closed labs to undergraduates in the summer, therefore, my research has been put on pause for a few weeks.
At the moment, I am working on a remote control glider. I designed the plane from scratch, by researching and sourcing all of the electronics, and calculating the dimensions and characteristics of the plane by using SolidWorks and AVL. The details of this project are on my Projects page under RC Glider. Feel free to check out my work!
My next endeavor is to code a program in Matlab that will ask a series of questions about what type of RC craft a person desires to build, and based on that information, will calculate and tell the user the dimensions and characteristics of the craft needed to satisfy the inputted requirements.
